James Thurber is described as one of the funniest American writers. December 8th, 1894 is the day he was born. On the subject of cats Thurber said:
"I am not a cat man, but a dog man, and all felines can tell this at a glance — a sharp, vindictive glance."
Okay, not his best joke, but it gets him into our cat almanac.
